Summer Recap

Summer flew by for us, and unfortunately we didn't have an amazing trip to San Diego like last year, but here is a recap of what we did.

May:

We took the girls and their friends to the Great Wolf Lodge for birthday/end of school celebration.






June:

Rodney went on a second Quest called Fire Worship



July

Kendra & Addie came to visit from Canada. The whole family came over for 4th of July to swim and bbq.


Rodney and I were able to get away for a few days and went down south to Wimberley, TX



We also threw in a couple of trips to Six Flags, many visits to the pool, and outings with friends.

1st Day Of School

Wow...it's been a long time since I've posted a blog. Well there will be no shortage of news from our end from here on out. Jocelyn is now a freshman in high school! Where did the time go? It just seems a short time ago she was born and I was only 23...yikes! She is playing on the varsity volleyball team and loving it! Hannah is now in 4th grade and Kaitlin in 2nd. Hannah & Kaitlin both play volleyball as well in an instructional league on Friday nights. Hannah is still taking horseback riding lessons, but her instructor moved to South Dakota so we have been searching for a new one and finally found one in Plano that will begin on Sept 14. Her lessons will be on Sundays which will be a nice change as I won't have to hurry up after school or fight traffic. Kaitlin was taking gymnastics, but had a bout with pneumonia so we decided to pull her out for a while. Her health has been great since we put her on some probiotics and have limited her dairy intake.

Happy 3rd Birthday Taylor

Today was the first day of school and the girls were only a little excited. We are still adjusting back to Texas time from being in California for almost 3 weeks. Hannah was more thrilled about seeing all her friends again. Kaitlin acted very calm, but I'm sure was a little nervous on the inside. Jocelyn needed some encouragement because a lot of her friends have gone on to other schools. I think they were more excited about seeing their cousin in pre-k than anything else.

This is in the back of the aquarium that looks out over the ocean. In the winter you can see the whales migrating in the ocean behind Joc & Kaitlin. They also have tide pools where you can pet lobsters, starfish and other sea creatures.




The next day we took a long drive to Julian up in the mountains and took a gold mine tour. After the tour the girls got to pan for gold, but didn't get to keep any they found.












Thursday we went to Balboa Park which has museums and gardens. We only visited 2 museums, but the girls had a great time.

Friday we headed north to Hollywood. We learned one thing...we'll never move there.

When Marilyn Monroe did her hand & footprints, she took out her diamond earring and dotted the "i" in her name with it. A couple of days later it was stolen.

Saturday we spent the day at Newport Beach with our friends Joey, Cheryl and their 2 sons Jagr & Kosta. Tasha spent the weekend with us as well.















Monday we spent the entire day at Legoland with Tasha, Natalie & Quinn and the Schuellers.
